This is a reflection from my training in traditional yoga:
The upcoming holidays announce a time of sharing and remembering with our loved ones.
Our ancestors are part of our history, which we have inherited from them, even if they are no longer with us.
Remembering them helps to bring them back to life in our memories and in those of our children, whereas no longer talking about them creates a void in the place they occupied, as if they never existed.
In this festive holiday season and of course throughout the rest of the year, let's pay tribute to who they were, let's thank them for the heritage they left us (certain human qualities perhaps?). Sometimes this can also mean making everyone responsible for their own actions.
Let's remember our ancestors so that their memory can stay alive.
P.S. Many thanks to Gerd Altmann from Pixabay for his picture.
